Project description:

The Programme concerns the rehabilitation of blood donation facilities, procurement of the medical and non-medical equipment, mobile donation units and consumables, as well as the technical assistance to the Ministry of Health in further development and implementation of the planned rationalization approaches of the blood donation system and the quality control management of the procedures of the blood transfusion system.

Services provided by ETLog Health EnviroTech & Logistics:

A technical snap-shot analysis of the available structures regarding 1) healthcare waste management, 2) housekeeping management and 3) injection safety is be carried out under special consideration of practical and operational aspects. Legal requirements and the special needs of the blood transfusion and donation facilities will be part of this phase. Based on the results and under consideration of safety, hygiene and environmental aspects, a standardized waste / housekeeping / injection safety concept will be developed for target facilities.

The concepts will form the basis for the environmental part of the project implementation plan. They will include the defining of needed infrastructure and equipment. The service provided during the implementation phase includes:

  • Awareness rising of upper management
  • Capacity Building of waste generators and handlers and monitoring authorities
  • Development of Workplace Operation Procedures
  • Development of Monitoring Schemes
  • Set up of pilot facilities for demonstration
