Project description:

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi intend to privatize the Solid Waste Management (SWM) services, including MSW, C&D Waste, hazardous waste and healthcare waste for the entire Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The overall Project Objective was defined as "Establishment of a sustainable Solid Waste Management Master Plan involving Private Sector Participation" The project waste structured in four (4) phases: Phase 1 concerned the Status Quo Analysis (SQA). Within the Phase 2 a Master Plan for Solid Waste Management was prepared, recommending a sustainable Solid Waste Management and the best strategies for involving Private Sector Participation. In Phase 3, the Tender Documents for treatment and disposal plants on a BOO/T were elaborated and the tender phase and evaluation was supported until award of contract. Phase 4 was the Supervision Phase.

  • Development of the HCW Masterplan 2005-2015, financial analysis of the recommended concept;
  • Design of a privatization concept for bio-hazardous waste, proposal of a tariff structure;
  • Development of necessary tender documents for the privatization of the healthcare waste management for the next 10 years;
