Project description:

The purpose of the project is to improve access of the population, particularly of poor and disadvantaged people, to decentralised quality-assured and demand oriented health services of the provincial health system. This is to contribute to an improved health status of the population in the selected provinces. As this is a joint program of technical and financial cooperation, a close and well-coordinated cooperation between the FC Consultant on the one hand and GIZ and its counterparts on the other hand is essential for the success of the program especially as major interventions with regard to training and capacity building are provided through the TC component.

The two target provinces of the program are Nghe An and Thai Binh. For the hospitals in this two provinces, an environmental management system will be developed, installed and brought into operation. To be covered areas of this component of the main project will include:

1. Waste management services
2. Sanitation services
3. Water supply

Services provided by ETLog Health EnviroTech & Logistics:

  • During the Inception Phase, the consultant will carry out a demand analysis for the three areas in the field of infection control.
  • Provide a basic training in each province on environmental infection control. The first training will be healthcare waste management, the training length will be 3 days.
  • During the implementation phase, about 6 month after the healthcare waste training, the second training on Water and waste water will be held. The training duration will be not less than 3 days in each province.
