GAVI Alliance support for health-care waste management implemented by WHO
Designated countries receiving support from the GAVI Alliance adopt a national policy on health-care waste management and will develop a national strategy and plan for implementation of the policy.
Objectives:

  • Review the current healthcare waste management policies and recommendations from the national workshop on HCWM.
  • Review the progress of the national task force on developing the draft national policy documents on HCWM and provide technical support for finalizing their preparation.
  • Submit the mission report with recommendations for the future steps/activities in improving HCWM policies and practices in the country.

Services provided by ETLog Health EnviroTech & Logistics:

  1. Reviewing relevant legal framework, regulations, guidelines on HCWM, SOPs as well as recommendations from the national workshop on HCWM.
  2. Reviewing the progress of development and provide support to finalize:
    a) The national policy (regulation) on HCWM;
    b) The national guide on HCWM;
    c) Training curricula for HCWM.
  3. Meeting and working with relevant authorities and the national task force on HCWM;
  4. Debriefing MoH, WHO and interested Partner organisations on the progress and required support to strengthen HCWM policy and practice in the Republic of Moldova.
